COURSE DESCRIPTION:

Create your own web page. Learn different software to design Web pages. The Web has become the hottest new way for businesses and individuals to get their message to the public. The Internet is the fastest growing communications medium ever, and in this course students will also learn how to use this resource effectively and ethically. Students will learn how to narrow a search to find information more efficiently and evaluate the reliability of the sources you find. Students should have a USB drive.

 

PURPOSE:

  • Website: Exploration, Design, Color, Standards

  • Understanding how the Internet operates

  • Creating websites with Weebly.com, Wix.com, Webs.com, Wordpress.com

  • Html/CSS programming (CodeCademy.com)

 

ATTENDANCE:

You must be in your seat when the bell rings for class. If you are late you will serve a 15-minute detention with me. You will either serve the detention with me that day after school or the next morning before school. After your second tardy and all tardiness after – parents WILL be called each time!

 

EXPECTATIONS:

Be on time! (in your seat and logged into the computer)

Treat yourself and others with RESPECT

No food

Beverages with caps are allowed.

No Gum.

Cell Phones – no talking or texting during class

No coats in the classroom.

Backpack/bags etc. MUST go under your desk.

Academic Fraud will not be tolerated. Give an honest effort and work to the best of your ability each day.

No music, No games

 

PASSES:

If you are leaving the room more than you are in the room we will be having a conversation. (NO passes are to be used 15 min. after the bell, 15 min. before the bell or during instruction!)

 

CHAIRS:

Do not scoot around on the chairs. If this becomes a problem I will be contacting parents and giving detentions.

 

PRINTING/ PAPER:

No Printing.
